Julie Shaffrey, M.D.
Practice Liaison, Co-Director of Quality Assurance
Dr. Julie Shaffrey is a practicing member of the Virtual Radiologic radiology staff with expertise in emergency radiology. Her additional responsibilities include serving as the company's Practice Liaison and Co-Director of Quality Assurance. In this capacity, she sits on Virtual Radiologic's quality review board and assists management with sales and recruitment of radiologists.
Dr. Shaffrey received her undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. and her medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore. She served her internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Shaffrey has many years of experience in the field of teleradiology. Prior to joining Virtual Radiologic in 2004, she was radiologist/partner, chief of nighttime teleradiology services, quality assurance committee member and an elected member of the ARA Board of Radiologists for American Radiology Services in Baltimore, Md. Dr. Shaffrey also is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology.
